New Addition...

Well as the name of our blog indicates...our home is ever changing.
We have ventured back into the world of foster care after a nice 3 month break. We were called and asked to take Teags sister Kendall back and after much discussion and a family vote-we agreed. So, she moved in Wednesday night and now the fun begins! I must say so far so good. (I love the honeymoon stage)
We hope that we can help get the kinks worked out so she can return home.
I'll post more info as we go on!

Polar Wave Fun!!

We spent today at the Polar Waves snow tubing place in Batavia.
It was SO much fun. We were so happy to have a sunny not too cold day. Here are just a few of the pictures, but I will try to put on a slide show of the others...
there are so many neat ones!Aunt Nicole and Meg
(pay no attention to the crazy hat lady behind them in orange or the blue guy...that's just uncle Shaun)
Here is Meg getting on the lift~The idea is that you sit on the tube
and are then pulled up the slope.
Then you roll off and go to one of the 5 different slopes.
The first slope being the easiest and 5th one being the most "thrilling".
This is Julz in the bottom spot...next up the line is Cole w/Kaylie...next is Shaun...then Meg (from the above picture)

A neat thing is that you can hook up with a bunch of other people and all go down together-soooo fun!
As you can see this group is:
Meg (hand up) Ab (purple head)
Jay (orange) and Ian (brown)

Here they are after that fun ride down the hill!
Ready for another trek back up!

Another Student of the week on PJ day!

You will notice everyone in their Pj's...it was pajama day at school (how F-U-N!)
But most importantly...we are proud to announce that Jay was this weeks recipient of the "student of the week" award. He was also chosen for the character trait of "Caring". His teacher said he is just a great kid~always hold a door open for everyone or lends a hand to others. We are just thrilled for him!!

(notice Ab in the left in white and Blue PJ's and Julz to the right in pink)

Birthday Boy!

Jay turned 11 this week! I can't believe it, seems like only yesterday he was in my arms! Well here are a few shots from his family B-day party.
He was happy to have everyone over and got some fun gifts!

The saga of the Kitchen Sink...

So we have had this problem for about 6 months or longer. Our hot water in the kitchen would not run with as much pressure as the cold. When this was a new predicament-we pondered what could be making it happen. Ben was pretty sure he knew what needed to be fixed, but it was at the bottom of our to do list.It was however effecting our dishwasher and so Ben wanted to tackle this before he went back to work.
So the saga began around 2:00 pm on Friday-Ben tried to remove our old faucet...which should have taken 10 mins...but actually took about two hours!
By the time it was off we needed to purchase a new faucet-so off to Lowes we went right after dinner. We bought a new fixture-got home and found out we had the wrong kind for our dishwasher hook up.
So this morning Ben went out and bought a new fixture that we thought would work. We then took many hours to get the right hook ups and it looked very nice!
HOWEVER...the hot water still didn't flow with much pressure!!!
SO I then suggested that perhaps the clog was where the shut off valve was-quite possible since the valve was not shutting off properly.
SO Ben went off to Ace Hardware to get the new shut off valve. A half an hour later he installed it and discovered that he had the wrong piece-because there was no where to hook up the water line to it.
SOOOOO off he went again to Ace to tell them what he needed and get some professional direction. A half and hour later he came home and installed the proper shut off valve. He turned on the water and......guess what?
IT WORKED!!!
So the sink is now beautiful and working and doing all the things it needs to do. And we are not talking about the fact that it really only would have cost us $8.00 if we had started from the bottom up!
Enjoy the pictures of our new sink.

This is the real problem...the old shut off valve!
This is the new shut off valve! Isn't it nice!

And here is a picture of our sink with new faucet running!
(Ignore the dishes-they aren't new...just never ending)

Student of the Week!

Our sweet Ab, received the Student of the Week award for being Caring!
She came home and said "I am Caring aren't I"... How cute!
She was very surprised and happy.
We are so proud of all she has done over the past two years!
